Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessive  Compulsive Disorder is one of our expertise. In the United States, it is estimated that 1 in 40 adults and 1 in 100 children have OCD. OCD does not discriminate between ages, genders or ethnicities and it is best described as intrusive thoughts (obsessions) which result in repetitive behaviors (compulsion) that takes up at least an hour a day and cause significant distress to the person experiencing it. There are actually many different types of OCD and based on your symptoms we will be able to go over the different types with you and talk to you about a plan of action. There is strong scientific evidence that the best way to treat OCD is through Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) including Mindfulness. These techniques are the ones we utilize in our sessions and they provide quick and long term relief for OCD, if you think you may be suffering from OCD don't delay in seeking treatment, because there is a life outside of OCD.
